Plast Craft Games Post Apocalypse Trailer Gas station

Guess my super mutants are poor green trash now. Built another Plas Craft Games preprinted terrain kit. This is a bit earlier kit than that Urban Range house kit and the quality isn't as good in the printing sharpness or ease of construction. Is an interesting design with the curved roof and sides of the caravan though it's massive compared to scale. I used a hair dryer to try and help with curving the panel as I glued them on but the bottom of the wrap around bit melted a bit like a shrinks dink which is annoying but what can you do. Lots of areas needed painting since the print is one sided. Need to paint the inside wall of the side shack bit with the open door.

Telegraph Poles Terrain

I've wanted telegraph poles for my urban terrain for years but lack of O scale stuff locally has made it tricky. After contemplating how hard it would be to just make my own while stuck at traffic lights I finally just hit up the craft store to get some 6mm dowel and some slightly thicker stuff at the dollar store. Sooo here's the recipe. Dowel, match sticks, tiny glass beads, plastic rod or wire, and some thin card from food packaging.

I cut the dowel to about 16-17cm long then bashed the top a bit with a hammer cause poles look like that. Next cut down the match sticks to 3.5cm. I had tried drilling through the match sticks to secure the insulators but it kept splitting so instead I just superglued on the beads directly, then put in some bits of plastic rod, a drop of glue to secure them. Then cut a square of card then halve that and cut out the middle to get the thin L bracket. Glue that to the side of the sticks then a drop of glue on the middle of the stick and L bracket and stick it onto the pole. Do that twice. Worth mention a lot of poles have 3 then 4 insulators for some reason and usually alternating left and right for which side has two. Lastly glue the pole down to a heavy base like an MDF base or washer.

Trash Bags terrain

GAH RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!

Followed a tutorial on how to make tiny garbage bags, using double layer squares of actual garbage bags wrapped around small rocks, tied, then trimmed. With a dot of superglue to make sure the knot doesn't come undone.

Big Rig

Heard Big W in Australia got in some affordable $15 1/43 semi trailers so had to go look for possible War Rigs / Porkchop Express. They had a few different truck types mostly too modern looking for my tastes. Went with the one classic design that you still see all over the place in Oz. Now I need Hasslefree's Jack Burton when he comes out in metal.

1/48 RDA Scorpion Gunship from Avatar the movie

After that awesome work in progress Avatar inspired table got posted in a local Infinity facebook group I had to order one of those 1/48 gunships from Alixpress. Arrived today, the box looks dodgy as but the model is brilliant. Damn bargain for $20 US delivered. Roving reporter GoGo Marlene braves my work table covered in Fallout minis to give scale to the beast. Hey you can even tell it's from the future cause the rocket pods are hex shaped ;) also has two spring loaded missiles and an LED in the nose and I think it makes noises but I need to put in some watch batteries. I think the body is partly diecast cause it's quite heavy and sturdy. The cockpit would look better with the frames painted.

1/43 Cars good for terrain

Found some nice Police cars in 1/43 on the weekend at Bankstown Markets 2 for $5. Bugatti Veyron pursuit cars seem suitably futuristic for Infinity. They also had some Ferraris but I liked the look of these better. Also picked up some 1/43 cars from Aldi yesterday. Nice quality for $4 each. Good detail on the Hummer. Think the Ford pickup is a bit smaller scale.

Guardians of the Galaxy Milano

OK I admit this is an old one back from 2014 but I'm trying to be thorough getting my hobby facebook posts on the blog before they all disappear.

 Picked up the big Guardians of the Galaxy ship today at Oz Comic Con, haven't seen it in the local shops so far, only the smaller one that Rocket flies and the Nova Corps ship. The cockpit interior fits 3 figs so a bit roomy should you want to put a crew in there. Also it lights up on the nose and makes sound effects.
