Primed Choppers

After filling all the screw holes on the Hotwheels chopper I got around to priming it this week along with this cool anime gunship. They actually look really good together. Could both look sweet parked on an airfield.

The Chopper filling the screw holes

Wasn't sure how hard or easy it would be to fill the very prominent screw holes in the hotwheel a chopper I posted a couple weeks ago. Jammed in some alfoil first to fill them a bit then jammed in green stuff. Took a few hours of pressing it flush, then cutting it back then sanding then some Tamiya putty before more sanding. Then gluing on some new rivets where they never were or got sanded off in the smoothing. Will hit it with some primer tomorrow. No idea what colour to paint it yet though.

More Cars

Continuing the gluing plates, rivets, skulls and spiky things to cars. Think this one needs some more side armour and maybe some mesh over the windows. Filling the back with 1/72 dudes and barrels and stuff couldn't hurt either.

Mad Cars

Guess what movie I saw yesterday?

Bit of fun with a hot wheels dune buggy and some plastic card and tubing. Probably needs a heap more weapons for Car Wars or Dark Future. Hope the spikes don't break off.

Mice & Mystics Big Bad Centipede by Reaper

One of the stand out minis as I was sorting through Bones II was this beasty. I immediately thought of the named centipede boss from Mice & Mystics so following it's artwork I threw some paint at it. Started with most of the colours airbrushed in then worked up edges and the carapace along it's back with brush.

It's a bit mutant lobsterish in colouring.

Mice & Mystic painting the rats

After doing all the very individual hero mice the rats were quite different being basically all identical. I followed an approach I'd seen others use in doing half as black rats to use as elite rats in some missions and the rest as brown rats for the mooks.

Like the mice I sprayed some brown over the black prime and the others were sprayed grey to get some quick zenithal highlighting. Then since the fur was much more pronounced than the mice I could easily drybrush the fur.

I then painted the hands, feet, ears, lips and tail in skin tone before using GW red was to shade. Then highlighted with flesh again. Then painted the eyes, teeth and all the armour and belts black before painted them up and shading them with army painter strong tone.

I'm not one to so much in the way of troop painting techniques but I was very happy with these quick results.

Also show off how I got the painted minis to fit in the box

THMX just a few bits

Been sanding off the frame connections for the last couple days. Now lots of glueing to go.

Painting Mice & Mystics the Heroes

Continuing on from the nasty bugs I worked on the hero mice of the game. These were fun to do and I did a couple heroes a day as I plowed through them. I either sprayed zenithal Tamiya brown or grey over the black to get started. Was a lot of painting hair strokes all over the mice, I didn't actually drybrush them.

Bit of seeing how they look on the tiles then back to the mage and cleric

Woo all done, these were really easy to paint up being such nice characters, I wish the mage was more colourful but I was matching the character card from the game.

Next the rats.
