Kylo Ren's Shuttle and some other Titanium and HotWheels ships

Been looking at Titanium series and Hotwheels for possible extra ships. Pretty happy with my repainted shuttle though I need to give some coats of dullcoat. The plastic wings that extend out seem to flake paint very easily. Just got the 1st Order Hotwheels dropships today. Wanted to compare the Titanium series versions 1st but haven't been able to find any in local stores despite looking around for a month so caved and got these. Not sure if they just need a wash to bring out detail or full paint but I think they scale well. Also got some Clone Wars Titanium dropships cause they look cool. Maybe I can have some boarding actions in epic games since I have 2 for each side. Also had to take some pics of my converted Gundam Type89 Base Jabber [that's really the kits name] with the Gozanti. They look like they go together well.

Poe Damaron's Black X-wing

Back early 2016 everyone was repainting T-70s as Poe's black x-wing. Of course with so many people doing it FFG went and announced their own version after I painted it. Oh well.

Imperial Raider

As soon as you see the huge engine at the back of the Raider model you know it was meant to be airbrushed in some glow, they kept it pretty shallow and not very detailed. Before I started on those though I added a heap of little rectangles of masking tape on the top panels of the ship and did some grey spraying to clean up the underside where the factory wash had pooled in ugly ways and to add some variety of tone to the panels. After that I did several drybrushes of light grey then white. Then I removed all the masking tape masks. Then added shading with soft black and strong tone washes. Either tracing detail or shading a panel area then softening the edge using a q-tip. After all that I did the engine glows using ultramarine blue, arcane blue then white.

YT-2400 Outrider

Had this one since it came out but only got around to spraying the engine glow. About time I dirtied it up some. I masked to add some stripes too since that seems popular but did mine in low contrast grey.

IMPERIAL ASSAULT - AT-ST comparisons

Was surprised to get my copy of Imperial Assault on X-mas eve, was expecting it some time next year since FFG is having a legal tiff with someone over board game licensing I hear.

BIG BOX, lots of lovely tiles, way too many tokens and a good pile of minis. Was a bit annoyed the chin guns on my AT-ST were snapped off in the bag of parts :( I tried supergluing them back together but it didn't stay together so I had to get a bit more drastic and remade the barrels with aluminium tubing.

With that fixed my friends were like how does it compare to your AT-ST collection so here's a representation of the various AT-STs over the years

in the lineup I have a KFC happy meal small version of the old Kenner AT-ST sculpt, a Micromachines Action Fleet AT-ST, the new FFG sculpt, the WOTC prepainted version from the CMG and lastly the oldest of them the snap kit MPC model which dates back to Return of the Jedi branded merch, though this was probably a 90s reissue. So how does the new one scale up, a bit oddly really, it's got the bulk of the WotC version, the height of the more 20mm scaled Action Fleet version due to it's short stocky legs and bigger side guns than any other version, it's kinda been "Heroic Scaled" like 40K oversizing of guns and short stumpy proportions. The detail on it is quite nice though. It's one of only 2 sculpts that have the window shutters open, I cut open and modded the MPC kit. It's made from a fairly stiff vinyl which has pretty alright sharpness but a bit of a pain to sand off mold lines, also don't think I can get the head of the waist to get to all the mold lines either. I do look forward to seeing the character version with even more guns jammed on it like the one from the boss from Force Unleashed.
